Death came at an unexpected time and place when Harry Victor Brumbaugh at 8:30 Saturday evening when he was ushered into the great beyond from his home at 701 Second street, in Juniata. The deceased was a splendid young man of the borough, a returned service man who was honorably discharge after nine months of service as an ambulance driver, and one whose splendid Christian character was beyond reproach, Victor Brumbaugh, as he was best known, was born at Clover Creek on Jan 22, 1897, and was just entering into the fullness of mature years and the larger responsibilities of life, when he succumbed to an attack of septicemia, following a sever abscess. He was the son of the Rev. Josiah B. (deceased) and Lucinda Dilling Brumbaugh and came to Juniata with his family some fifteen years ago. He was a graduate of the Juniata High School, in the class of 1914, and in 1918 graduated from Juniata college at Huntingdon. The deceased was employed as a clerk in the J. D. Brumbaugh Co. general store conducted by members of the family and was held in high regard by the many of his townspeople with whom he came in daily association. He was an active member of the Church of the Brethren in Altoona and Juniata. Surviving are his mother, at the home address, and by one brother and three sisters –John D. Brumbaugh, Mrs Jennie L. Miller and Mrs. Susie M. Glass, all of Juniata, and Mrs. Elma G. Rogers of East Freedom. Interment will be in the Brumbaugh Family Cemetery in Clover Creek. Altoona Mirror May 1921
