Services were held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 13, 2003 at First Baptist Church for Harvey S. Apple of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Apple, 76, died Monday, February 10, 2003 at his home.

Mr. Apple was born July 28, 1926 in Reidsville, North Carolina; the son of Harvey Sheridan Apple and Margaret Burnet Benson Apple.

He served in the United States Navy during World War II.

On September 18,1948 he was married to Carolyn Lineberry in Raleigh, North Carolina. They came to Artesia from North Carolina in October of 1956.

He was a completion foreman for oil and gas wells and was a member of the Methodist denomination.

Mr. Apple was preceded in death by his parents; a sister Peggy Apple Yates; and a brother Charles E. Shortt.

Survivors include wife Carolyn Apple of the family home; a son Harvey S. Apple, Jr. and wife Patty of Button Willow, Calif.; a daughter Carol Ann Apple of Artesia; a sister-in-law Bettie Shortt of Liberty Hill, Texas and her daughters Stephanie and Tammie; a granddaughter Anna Dell Apple of Button Willow; a nephew John Yates, Jr. and wife Nancy of Artesia and their son Trey; and a niece Cynthia Yates Price and husband Les of Carbondale, Colo. and their children Nicole, Ryan, Sean and Jeff.
