--7th of 10 children born to William Thomas Moore and the former Nancy Jane May.
--Raised on the cotton farm in Polkton until his family moved to Rockingham in 1893 to work in the textile mills.
--Enjoyed squirrel hunting with brother John while living in Polkton.
--His family again relocated to the mill village of North Charlotte in Charlotte, NC, to work in the textile mills in 1906.
--Married to Mary Madeline Christenbury on December 24, 1923, in Charlotte.
--3 children: Howard Wilson (1925-2015), Mary Lois, and Loma Evelyn (1928-2022)
--Occupation: Textile worker.
--Eventually retired and relocated to the Piedmont Courts where Madeline died in 1966 of a heart attack.
--Died at age 85 in 1971 at the Wesley Nursing Center of Ischemic heart disease in refractory congestive failure, uremic. His sister Lucy Moore Phillips also died that same day (Oct. 3, 1971).
--Member of Spencer Memorial United Methodist Church.
--Survived by son Howard Moore & wife Lois; daughters Lois Yandle & husband Mark and Evelyn Hope & husband James; 10 grandchildren; sister Mrs. Lula Suddreth.
