Mary Arterburn was the daughter of George Arterburn born about 1819 in KY, and his wife Serena Colyear Arterburn, born about 1821 also born in KY.

Mary married James Burrows on 11 May 1873 in Logan Co, Illinois. He was a Plasterer and Brick Mason, by trade, and had served as a Corporal in the US Civil War. They had three children; ~ James Ross Burrows, born 12 Oct 1875 in Lincoln, Logan Co, IL, and died 27 Dec 1938 in Princeton, Bureau Co, IL, ~ Margaret Z. Burrows, born 27 Aug 1877,in Lincoln, Logan Co, Il, and died 26 Dec 1897 in Jacksonville, Morgan Co., IL., ~ and Addie Mae Burrows, born 26 Sep 1886 in Lincoln, Logan Co, IL, and died 16 Aug 1965, in San Bernardino, Calif.

Mary died in Lincoln, Logan Co, IL. and is buried next to her husband James Burrows, in the Old Union Cemetery. She does not have a headstone. Buried next to her is a "Paul Burrows", who does not have a headstone either. I believe that he is the son of James Ross Burrows and his wife Sarah Rebbecca Hoop Burrows. "Paul S. Burrows", was born and died in 1904. James does have a gov't issued headstone, as he was a veteran of the Civil War.
