DEATH IS DUE TO ACCIDENT
Youth Thought Murdered Died as Result of Injuries Sustained while Wresting.
Harold Jackson, 16 who died in the Firestone hospital last night, and who was first reported a victim of murder died from accidental causes. That was the verdict rendered by Coroner C.H. Kent after holding a postmortem this morning. After a full investigation of the case had been made, it was learned that the youth was injured while wrestling at Cole and S. Main St., and that he had been removed to the Firestone hospital where he was given medical attention. He was not employed at Firestone, nor was Joseph Stafford, 16, with whom he is said to have been wrestling at the time he was hurt. His skull was fractured, sustaining the injury by striking his head on the sidewalk.
The father of the boy, who arrived in Akron early this morning, attributed his death to heart failure.
Late last night after the boy's body had been removed to the morgue, police and the coroner believed the young man murdered and later the boy's pal Stafford was taken to police headquarters and quizzed. He was relased this morning.
Detective Eddie McDonnell said this morning that although Coroner Kent had attributed they boy's death to an accident, there are several peculliar features surrounding the case. These features, he said, must be cleared up before the case has been finally disposed of.
