Nancy Gilbert Davidson, was born 16 Sept 1806 in Owego Village, Tioga, New York, the daughter of Allen Gilbert and Sabra Bennett Gilbert. In 1814 the family moved to Ohio, where she married John Davidson on 11 Jan 1827. In 1835 the Davidsons moved to LaGrange Co, Indiana, and later to McDonough Co, Illinois. Nancy Davidson died in Blandinsville, McDonough Co, Illinois, on 26 Sept 1899. She was a member of the Methodist Church. Children also include Henry "Clay" Davidson also buried in Glade Cemetery.

Died Aged 93 Mrs. John Davidson, a paragraphic account of whose death appeared in these columns a few days ago, was one of the oldest citizens of Blandinsville township, in which she died, if indeed not in the county. Her maiden name was Nancy Gilbert. She was born near the then small village of Oswego, N.Y., Sept. 16, 1806. When eight years of age she moved with her parents to Ohio. In that state she grew to womanhood and was married to John Davidson Jan. 11, 1827. In the year 1835 the family moved to Indiana ( LaGrange ) and from that state to Illinois in 1854, settling on the farm on which she died.; her residence there being 45 years. He[sic] husband died Aug. 2, 1872. Her death was caused from the effects of a fall received 16 days before.
She was the mother of eight children, five of whom survive her; two dying in infancy, and the eldest son dying in 1890. The children living are : Mrs. S.J. Cochran, Victor, Colo; Mrs. H.{sic}Jones, Seandria {sic},Kan.: Mrs.S. Yetter and H.C. Davidson, Blandinsville, and Mrs. Ella Argenbright, who resides on the home farm three miles east of Blandinsville, where the mother died. She leaves besides her children one sister and two brothers, 19 grand children and 13 great-grand children.
She became a member of the Methodist church at Blandinsville in the year 1860, remaining a true christian until the time of her death. In her last illness she expressed a willingness to go if it was the Lord's will. She was a woman of extra intelligence and her intellect kept bright in spite of her advancing years. She was a great reader and kept well posted on occurring events. She was a true neighbor, a helpful wife and a sacrificing and fond mother. No woman can be more.
