NILES - Hubert O. Greene, 87, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 5:10 am at Trumbull Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.
He was born in Conway, S. Carolina on May 18, 1924 the son of Jasey Evans and Mary Isabelle (Jordan) Greene and moved to this area in 1955 from South Carolina and was will known as Herb.
He retired in 1992 after working 20 years as a pipe fitter at Packard Electric. He was a member of the Braceville First Assembly of Pentecost, church elder and usher. He enjoyed traveling, his longtime profession as a pipe fitter, and especially family and church activities.
Hubert is survived by two daughters, Pat (Larry) Davis of Loganville, Georgia, Carol (Richard) Hamilton of Carolina Shores, N.Carolina; four sons, David (Sue) Greene of Loudon, Tenn., Curtis Greene of Niles, Steve Greene of Greenville, S Carolina, Robert Greene of Niles; 14 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Annette (Parks) Greene whom he married on Sept. 30, 1943 and who died on Feb. 22, 2005; daughter, Susan Greene; two sons, Richard Greene and Ronald Greene; two sisters and four brothers.
Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
