Alois R. Drill, 86, formerly of 1716 Clark St., Manitowoc, died Friday afternoon, August 17, 1990 at Manitowoc Health Care Center. Funeral services will be 9:30 am Monday at Pfeffer Funeral Home and 10 am at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc.
Presiding the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Roman Zbieranski O.F.M., with burial to follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
He was born June 3, 1904 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, son of the late Michael and Michaelina Bialek Drill. He married the former Leone Olm in 1936 in LaPorte, Ind. She preceded him in death on December 25, 1963. He then married the former Florence LeMay Olson in 1968. She preceded him in death June 25, 1982. He was employed with Manitowoc Shipbuilding Company for 47 years, retiring in 1969. He was a member of Manitowoc Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 706. He also served on the Manitowoc Common Council.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Schaefer of New York, N.Y., a son, Thomas Drill of Manitowoc; a sister, Jennie Wilfer of Manitowoc; three grandchildren, Ryan, Erik and Katherine Schaefer. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Frank and John and a sister, Estelle.
Friends may call at Pfeffer Funeral Home, Manitowoc, 6 pm to 9 pm this Sunday. The family asks that memorials be made to the Roncalli High School, Manitowoc Lutheran High School and Capital Civic Centre.
