As of August 3, 2011 the world became a little quieter place. Filmore Joseph McCann lost his battle with luekemia and not to mention the inevitable shutting down of ninety years of hard work on his body. He was married to his childhood Sweetheart Martha for 60 years and during that time had four children. Nancy Anderson, Wendover, Nv, Jerry McCann, Cancun, Mexico, Patricia Torres, Gardnerville, Nv and daugher Judy Williams, Las Vegas, Nv. He was not finished after 60 years of marriage ending when Martha passed away Sept 20, 1998. He met a wonderful soul Mate Connie Strebel from Ogden, Ut. in 1999 and they were companions until her passing in December, 2009, Connie has two daughter's Terry Kilburn and Chris Stimpson both from Ogden, Utah, whom he considered his adopted daughters along with all of the Ogden Family members that were so loving towards him. Filmore aka "Mac" spent years as a building contractor and many deals were done on a handshake. He had a hand in building the first lodge in Kirkwood, contracted by Phillip Morrise. He had amazing morals and work ethics. Positive attitude during any and all crisis. Mac was known to reply when asked "Mac, how do you feel"? "I feel with my hands" he would say. A great friend Gary Den Heyer quoted "he was the one who believed that helping other people was a must and that you can never do enough for others." Mac donated his body to the University of Utah, after only completing the third grade, he would joke about ending up at the University. His cornias have been donated to the veterans, and as his son-in-law Jerry Anderson said, " I hope whomever receives them will see the world as positivley as pop did". His favorite pastime was to play in the casino's and was well known in the Wendover, NV. casino's, Mac loved to talk to people and alway's said "a stranger is just a freind he hadn't met yet." He spent the last two years of his life being treated like a King at his daughter Nancy's in Wendover, God Bless them for all the love and unselfish care they gave him. Now is a wonderful time to embrace and celebrate the beautiful people in our lives that make our days a little easier and more meaningful. Daddy, Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Great Great Grandpa, Uncle and Friends you will be so missed and never forgotten and always loved, Thank you for all the Love and Support you have given so many, we are all Blessed to have had you in our lives.
