Mary J. Schmiel, age 73, of West Toledo, passed away Tuesday, August 22, 2006, in her residence. Mary was born on March 19, 1933 in Toledo to Felix and Corra (Bukowski) Nadolny. A 1951 graduate of Whitney High School, she worked for both the LaSalle's and Tiedke's downtown department stores, and as a bookkeeper for the former First National Bank downtown main office for 25 years, retiring from there in June of 1988. Mary was a former parishioner of both St. Stanislaus and Blessed Sacrament Catholic Churches, and a current parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church, 628 Locust St. at Erie. An avid golfer, she golfed with the First National Golf League, and enjoyed traveling to different courses to golf with her husband, Arthur. She also loved her crossword and puzzle books. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband, Arthur Lee Schmiel on June 3, 1991. Survivors include her son, Kevin M. Schmiel of Toledo; daughter, Jennifer (Rodney) Marinelli of Millbury, OH; granddaughter, Sarah Marinelli; sister, Alice Truchan of Toledo and brother, Jerry Nadolny of Homestead, FL. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Irene Popek and Dorothy Rable and brothers, David and Robert Nadolny. Family and friends may visit Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and Friday from 2-8 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 East Alexis Rd., where a rosary will be recited Friday at 7 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the mortuary and continue with the Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
