She was born May 18, 1902, to John and Anna Lehmeier at Perham, Minn. She moved west with her parents and attended St. Maurus School at Ferdinand.
She married John A. Frei Jan. 27, 1920, at Ferdinand.They farmed in the Ferdinand area until he retired in 1958 but continued to live on the farm. He died March 17, 1988.
She was a communicant of the Assumption Catholic Church at Ferdinand and a member of the Christian Mothers Society at Ferdinand. She also enjoyed crocheting, traveling and fishing.
Survivors include three sons, Delbert and Donald, both of Ferdinand, and Vernard of Cottonwood; four daughters, Delores Billups of Grangeville, Patricia Kilwein of Lewiston, Norma Schumacher of Greencreek and Janet Klement of White Bird; 38 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Three brothers, two sisters and a grandchild died previously.
Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Monday at Assumption Catholic Church at Ferdinand. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church with the Rev.Thomas Mathes officiating. Burial will be at the Ferdinand Community Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be sent to Sts. Peter and Paul Elementary School at Grangeville.
