"C. D. Cooper, 85, year old retired farmer, died Friday at his home near Lockhart after a long illness. The funeral service was held at Lockhart Methodist Church, Sunday afternoon and the burial was in the Independence Cemetery at Sandyville. The body was at the Vail mortuary in Ripley until one hour before the service. Mr. Cooper was one of the widely known and highly respected citizens of Jackson County and his death while expected was nevertheless a great shock to his family and to his wide circle of friends. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Archer Cooper, three daughters, Addie Cooper at home; Mrs. Hazel Burke, and Mrs. Lucy Affolter, both of Parkersburg; two grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Farley of Belpre; Mrs. Leona Farley of Parkersburg; and Mrs. Lydia Archer of Parkersburg; and a number of nieces and nephews."

Clarence Davis Cooper, 85 of Sandyville, rural route, died yesterday evening at his home.

He was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Archer Cooper, (bad film), Affolter, Route 5, Parkersburg, Mrs. Hazel Burke, of Parkersburg,, two grandchildren, Yvonne and Robert; three sisters: Mrs. Sarah Farley, of Belpre; Mrs. Leona Farley, of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Lydia Archer, Parkersburg, and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Lockhart Methodist church with burial in Sandyville’s Independent cemetery.
