Coroner Ray McDaniel, who investigated, stated that the man had been dead since Wednesday.
A heart attack was given as the cause of death. The body was discovered by Joseph DeWees of the Ohio Supply Company Saturday evening.
Thomas had done odd jobs at the supply company and DeWees, noting his absence, went to his home to see if he was ill.
Although he was born in Fincastle, Virginia, he had resided in Zanesville (Ohio) for the past 52 years.
He was a member of the Union Baptist church.
Surviving are a sister, Mrs. Nannie Ford of Columbus, and four brothers, George of this city; Robert and Harvey of Youngstown, Ohio and Matthew Thomas of Columbus, Ohio.
