Mary C. Banta, the daughter of John and Nellie (Slice) Schuh, was born March 26, 1905. She married Clyde Banta in 1926. The couple made their home in Anthon and Rodney until his death April 5, 1972, in Battle Creek. She had been a resident of Sioux City the past sixteen months. Mrs. Banta was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in anthon. Survivors include two sons and their wives, John W. and Arlene Banta, Clyde and Phyllis Banta, all of Sioux City, a brother and his wife, Frank and Frances Schuh of Anthon, a sister, Eilene Heath of Glendale, Arizona, five grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was preceded by two brothers and two sons, Carl and Leonard.
