Ahlensdorf Rites:
Funeral services were conducted at the Olson Funeral Home this afternoon for Henry W. Ahlensdorf, 98, who died at Lake Julia Rest Home Aug. 4. The Rev. Geo. Gerber officated and burial was made in Greenwood Cemetery.
Born in Germany (Hannover), June 30, 1869 (1868), Mr. Ahlensdorf came to America at the age of 14 locating at Mankato, he later moved to Duluth where he was employed by the Northern Pacific Railroad and then to South Milwaukee. In 1920 he began farming in th Turtle River area and moved into Bemidji in 1936. He was married to Pauline Schulter (Schoettler) at Mankato Nov. 15, 1890 and she preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Emil Ott (Elsie) of Mt. Shasta, Calif., and Mrs. Pauline Bergeron of Rockford, Illinois. Three sons, Henry J. of Bemidji, Edwin of McCloud, Calif., and Oscar of Columbia Falls, Mont.; 20 grandchildren; 61 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren.
