His parents were Charles and Ann (Crescine or Creaune) Morgan

His death certificate shows his birthdate as December 10, 1827 but his monument shows a different date.

Born in Nova Scotia, moved to Ontario and then to Michigan in 1880. The 1880 census shows only him and his son Thomas living in Michigan. Married in Guysborough Nova Scotia November 24, 1850.

Henry and Jane were farmers in Guysborough Co. Nova Scotia until the spring of 1853 when they moved, with her parents, to Grey Co. Ontario where they settled on a farm in Sullivan Twp. In 1880 they moved to Sigel Twp. Huron Michigan where they settled on a 40 acre farm in Section 25. In 1890, they left the farm, but did not sell, and moved to the flourishing lumbar camps at Greenbush. Michigan where her sister Sophia and family had previously moved. About 1895 the lumbar industry began to decline and they returned to their farm in Sigel Twp. Shortly afterward, they retired and went to live with their children. While spending the winter with their daughter, Amelia, at Webberville, Henry became ill with pneumonia and died after a brief illness. Jane then returned to Harbor Beach and lived with her son, Thomas, where she died. Henry became a naturalized citizen at Bad Axe Michigan April 27, 1888 He was baptized in the R.L.D.S. (Reorganized Latter Day Saint) church in Harbor Beach on May 24, 1886 by Elder J.J. Cornish.
