Marie was born the daughter of David and Mae (Haydette) Ferguson. She married Clarence Nugent in Algonac, Michigan. When his job transferred, they moved to Pompano Beach, Florida. She enjoyed playing cards and getting together with her family. Clarence died in 1976, and she later became a housekeeper for Father Bouvier in Michigan, spending winters in Florida. She died at the home of her daughter in Birmingham, Michigan, after a long illness. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Nugent. She was survived by her daughters, Helen (Al) Thomas, Nancy (James) Jackson, and Gail Shirey; sons, Gerald Nugent, David Nugent, and John Nugent; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
