Sarah Maud is a daughter of James Baron Sr. and Mary Ann Buckley. She is the sixth of ten children born to them. Her siblings are James (stillborn), Thomas, Alice Ann, Eli, Mary Ellen, John, Emma Eliza, James, Jr., and Edmund Marion. The family lived in Brigham City until 1891 when they moved to Hyrum, Utah. Her father managed the woolen mill. He died in 1894 when Sarah was ten years old.
Her mother married George Frederick Housley in 1896 and three more children were born: Jesse Frederick, Florence Wanda, and Vilate.
On July 26, 1904, in Logan, Utah, Sarah married Joseph Emanuel Christiansen. They lived in Hyrum until about 1915 when they moved to Menan, Idaho. They became parents to six children. Two died as infants, the other four children are: George Christian, James Duane, Ellis Marion, and John Baron.
Joseph died in the 1918 in the Spanish flu pandemic leaving Sarah a widow. She married Eli Cody Campbell, widower, on May 29, 1923. They became parents to two daughters: Ruth and Rhoda.
