Betty J. Bowers, 84, of Neodesha, Kansas, died Friday evening at the Spring River Christian Village in Joplin, Missouri.

Cremation has taken place and private family services will be held at a later date at the Neodesha Cemetery. Inurment is under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Loran Fawcett Chapel of Neodesha.

Betty Jean (Fenner) Bowers formerly of Neodesha, died at Spring River Christian Village in Joplin Missouri on Friday, July 1, 2011. Final resting place will be in Neodesha, Kansas.

Betty was born on July 31, 1926 in Neodesha to Leon and Frances Fenner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin (Bud) Bowers.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Golay of Carthage Missouri and Sharyn Thompson of McPherson, Kansas; 4 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
