MENAN - William Moses Clark, 82, a Menan farmer, died Friday at Menan of causes incident to age.
He was born March 20, 1897 at Menan, the son of Moses Chester and Annie Helena Geisler Clark. He attended Menan schools and farmed in the Menan area. He married Lillie Rottweiler August 25, 1926 at Rigby. The marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple.
He was a high priest in the LDS Church, serving as a high priest group leader, executive secretary, Sunday School superintendent, and a counselor in the Elders Quorum presidency. He was a member of the Menan school board and director of the Long Island Canal. He was a veteran of World War I. He received the outstanding Senior Cattleman award for Jefferson County in 1976.
He is survived by his widow; four sons, Bishop Lester M. Clark of Ammon, Bishop Keith W. Clark of Menan, Bishop Fred L. Clark of Nampa, and Carl R. Clark of Ucon; one daughter, Mrs. Donna Purcell of Menan; 20 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son.
Services will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Menan 2nd Ward LDS Chapel with Bishop Keith W. Clark officiating. Burial will follow at the Annis Little Butte Cemetery under the direction of the Eckersell Funeral Home.
