George Hecketsweiler, Sr., 85, of rural Mundelein passed away October 6, 2006 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville.

He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Helen (nee Gottschalk); his son, George Jr. of Burlington, WI; his daughter, Linda (Robert) Olson of Waukegan; three grandchildren, David, Adam (Debbie) and Kathryn (Steve Griffiths) Hecketsweiler; and four great grandchildren, Autumn, Austin, Dustin and Sandy all of Burlington. George lived all his life in Mundelein and 83 years on the same farm on Gilmer Road. He was there before the road was put in. He was a man of his word and his hand shake was always honored. He actively farmed for many years, milking cows, then raising beef animals, and finally had a firewood business before retiring.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Manor Care and the incredible neighbors for all that they contributed over the years.

Services will be held at KRISTAN FUNERAL HOME in Mundelein on Tuesday at 11 AM. Burial will be in Ivanhoe Cemetery, Mundelein immediately following services. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 9 PM on Monday.
