On Nov. 20, 1915 Josie Etta Chambers married Robert Louis Austin in Bayard, Nebraska. From this union Josie gave birth to the following children: James (Lewis) Robert Austin 1918 – 1986; Hazel M Austin 1918; Bertha Ellen Austin 1919 – 1938; Charles Albert Austin 1919 – 1925; Lenard Leeroy Austin 1927 – 1981 and Glenda Kell Austin 1935.
The 1920 census found Josie and Bob renting a farm in Bayard, Morrill, Nebraska. In 1930 they were one of a few that had a radio set in their home. In 1940 they were still living on a rented farm in Bayard.
On May 30, 1971 Josie passed away. The only confirmation was that a Find a Grave photographed her grave marker and created a memorial for her. Josie was buried in Plot: C - 181 - 7 in the Falls View Cemetery in American Falls, Power County, Idaho, where "Rests in Peace" (bio by Audrey DeCamp Hoffman)
