Mrs. H. C. Lane died July 5, at her home 6 miles east of Climax. Her maiden name was Frances Elizabeth Durham and she was born in Missouri April 23, 1857, and came to Greenwood County with her parents August 10, 1866. The Durham's settled in the neighbor east of Climax where the deceased has since made her home. She married in the spring of 1883 on the old home place of the Durham to Mr. H. C. Lane. She was converted to Christ 40 years ago and has ever since been faithful member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Besides her husband, she leaves 2 sons J. L. Lane of Eureka and W. N. Lane of Wichita, and her brothers, and sisters, and a host of friends. The funeral services were preached at the home by Rev. Pitman, the Baptist minister, from Eureka. Interment made in the Twin Groves Cemetery.
