Joseph R. "Joe" Donohoe, 64, of Urbana, died at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 in Mercy Memorial Hospital.

He was born July 17, 1947 in Springfield, a son of James Francis and Lucille B. (Garrett) Donohoe.

Joe was a 1966 graduate of Miami Trace High School and a graduate of Clark State Community College. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed woodworking and antiquing. He was also a member of Al-Anon Family Groups and was active in the recovery community and 12th Step Work.

Survivors include his daughter, Erin Donohoe of Cincinnati, daughter-in-law, Cathy Donohoe of Dublin, grandson, Tommy, sister, Mary Anne Craig-Collins of Richardson, TX, several nieces and nephews and many loving and attentive friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda on July 19, 2002, his parents, son, Patrick Joseph Donohoe, and brother, James Patrick Donohoe.

The family will receive friends 5 - 8 p.m. Friday, August 19, 2011 in the WALTER & SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 642 S. Main Street, Urbana.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2011 in St. Mary Catholic Church, 231 Washington Avenue, Urbana with Father William Kramer celebrant. Burial will follow in Oak Dale Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Joe's memory to the Brenda Fund at the Sycamore House, 315 Sycamore Street, Urbana, OH 43078.
