Elizabeth Wade was born near Petelo creek in Webster county, now Christian county, May 5, 1863, and departed this life May 23, 1938, aged 75 years and 18 days. She was united in marriage to Thomas C. Wade July 2, 1882. To their union were born five children, all of whom are living. They are Wash M. Wade, Ponce de Leon, Mo., Fred O. Wade, Ozark, Cassie Garoutte, Clever, Nancy Roberts, Springfield, and Efton Wade, Ponce de Leon. She left surviving her the husband, Thomas C. Wade, her five children, 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She professed faith in Christ early in life and united with the Methodist church. She was known for her hospitality and good-neighborly spirit.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home with burial in the Mt. Carmel cemetery south of Clever. The Chaffin Funeral Home was in charge.
