Bernard E. Coyne

Bernard E. Coyne, 71, of Clinton Manor apartments, died on Dec. 14 at Faxton-Children's Hospital. Born in Clark Mill's, on March 28, 1922, he was the son of Thomas and Mary Conley Coyne. He married the former M. June Calkins in Clark mills on Nov. 28, 1942, and the couple lived in Westmoreland and Madison-Bouckville for many years and for the last eight years in Clinton. A WWII Army veteran, he was with the 783rd MP Battalion at D-Day at Utah Beach and also in North Africa. He was a charter member of the Madison-Bouckville Antique Association, where he was credited with pioneering the concept of several antique businesses under one roof.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bruce and Mary Coyne, Clayton, and Michael Coyne; one brother, John Coyne, Utica; and two sisters, Veronica McCabe, Utica, and Ellen Curtacci, Whitesboro. A brother, Joseph, and a sister, Mary Abaied. (Sic).

Funeral services were held Dec. 17 from Owens-Pavlot Funeral service, Inc., with burial in Crown Hill Memorial Park, Clinton. Donations may be considered to the Central Oneida County Volunteer Ambulance Corps.
