The original military marker for Thomas Gorham incorrectly shows his date of death as Aug. 12, 1909. Letters in his Indian Wars Pension file clearly show that he died August 12, 1908 as does the date in the family bible. His newer headstone shows the correct birth and death dates for him.

Thomas was the son of Dr. Thomas Gorham & Mary Moss "Polly" Avery.
