FREMONT, Utah
Carl Maxfield Ellett, 91, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at his Fremont home, May 17, 2004.
He was born March 26, 1913 in Fremont, Utah, a son of Charles Arthur and Millie Francis Maxfield Ellett.
He married Elda Ann Blackburn, February 14, 1938 in the Manti LDS Temple. They have been married for 66 years. He graduated from Wayne High School and drove the school bus for 40 years. He has been a farmer and stockman. He also drove truck for different people who needed him to freight for them. Carl also worked part time for the Forest Service.
Carl has always loved the mountains and has been a great lover of horses. He was in the riding club for years and won many trophies.
He has held many positions in the LDS Church. He and his wife were ordinance workers in the Manti Temple for seven years. With all of his accomplishments and activities, he places his greatest love and pride in his family. He loves music and was the happiest when dancing with one of his daughters or riding on the mountain with his son.
Carl is survived by his wife, Elda Ann of Fremont; children: LaMont and Karen Ellett of Loa; Evelyn and Gary Pedersen of Pleasant Grove; Ruth Ellett of Boise, Idaho; Francine and Gary Hallows of Loa; Carla Ann and Adrian Ruger of Riverton. Carl and Elda have enjoyed 39 grandchildren, 48 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Carl was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: James, Leland, Nelden, Nola and Lola; one granddaughter and two great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 20, 2004 at 1pm in the Fremont LDS Ward Chapel. Friends may call for viewing at the Springer Turner Funeral Home in Richfield, Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm. and at the ward chapel in Fremont, Thursday from 11 to 12:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Fremont Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield, Salina and Gunnison, Utah.
