CHAFIN, Iris Marie, 72, of New Cumberland, W.Va., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2011, in the Weirton Medical Center.

She was born July 14, 1939, to the late Ira and Marge Birkheimer Shultz. She was also preceded in death by her husband William L. Chafin on Feb. 18, 2005.

Mrs. Chafin was a homemaker and Christian by faith. For many years, she bowled for the Holiday Lanes Bowling Leagues. She was an avid supporter and lover of all animals.

Iris is survived by her son, Ken Chafin; daughter, Cindy Chafin both of New Cumberland; brother, Larry Shultz of Chester, W.Va.; sisters, Sandy Tournay, Cheryl Bell and Phyllis Weekley all of Weirton.

To honor Mrs. Chafin's wishes, there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at the convenience of her family. Entombment will be in Highland Hills Memorial Gardens, Follansbee, W.Va.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hancock County Animal Shelter, P. O. Box 508, New Manchester, WV 26056.
