Esther E. Giltinan
Esther E. Giltinan, 78, of 115 N. 24th Street, died Friday in Western Manor Nursing Home after a short illness.
Born in Hebron, N.D., a daughter of George and Pearliette Swecker, she moved with her mother in 1919 to Billings. In 1920 she married Carl G. Klein in Billings and they farmed in the area until his death in 1949. She married Leonard Apps in 1950 in Sheridan, Wyo.; Mr. Apps owned and operated Parkway Service Stations in Billings. He died in 1963. She married David Giltinan in 1969 in Judith Gap, where they lived a short time before moving to Harlowton. Mr. Giltinan died in 1977 and she then returned to Billings.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Dolores) Cardinal of Del Mar, Calif. (1929-2016), . . . ; a son, . . . a brother, Ray E. Allen of Minneapolis, Minn.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Mass will be celebrated 10 am. Monday in St. Patricks Co-Cathedral with burial in Mountview Cemetery. Smiths Funeral Chapel is in charge.

Esther appears to have been married four or five times. This is what I have been able to track of her spouses. She first married August B. Pielaet 11/7/1921 in Roundup, Montana and they had two sons, Lee, who died in 1977 and Raymond Edward (9/20/1923-11/23/1979). After that marriage ended, she married Carl G. Klein 4/29/1929 in Billings. They had a daughter whose name appears as Delorse in the 1930 census and one son. Carl died in 1949 and I found another marriage to Dewey Rudie, 10/4/1949 in Bozeman. That marriage does not appear to have lasted and 9/22/1950 she married Leonard O. Apps in Sheridan, Wyoming. That marriage lasted until Leonard's death in 1963. After his death she appears to have married again to David Giltinan.
