One of three children (all daughters) of Harvey Bates and Martha Snook Bates to live to adulthood. All three daughters were born in Illinois, married there and lived the last years of their lives in Oklahoma.

TULSA DAILY WORLD, Tulsa Oklahoma, 14 December 1955, obituary, Mary E. Windsor Dies; Rites Pend, “Funeral arrangements are pending for Mrs. Mary E. Windsor, 89, of 1112 S. Galveston ave., who died Tuesday morning in a Tulsa hospital. She was admitted to the hospital Tuesday. Mrs. Windsor was the widow of J. A. Windsor, retired Gulf Oil Corp. employee who died in 1944. — She was a member of the Hillcrest Baptist church. — Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. A. C. Elliott, of the home; two sons, W. Harve Windsor, Clinton, and M. M. Windsor, Aumsville, Ore., nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Arrangements are under direction of the Moore funeral home.”

Friday in the Moore memory chapel. Mrs. Windsor died Tuesday in a Tulsa hospital. Interment will be in Memorial Park cemetery.”
