He immigrated to the United States in 1896 and his family settled in Lewiston, Maine. Ovide married Cecilia "Celia" Ford (born Jun 1888 in New York), daughter of Thomas and Margaret Ford. Ovide lived for a number of years in Bath, Steuben, New York and was widowed in 1934. His wife is interred in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Bath.
