Thompson, Marillyn 1924 – 2011. Memorial service for Marillyn Jean Carver Thompson will be held Saturday, August 6th at 11:00 am at Venice Presbyterian Church, Venice, Florida. Internment will precede the service at 10:30 am.
Mrs. Thompson passed away peacefully June 26, 2011 under the care of her loving daughter Barbara Thompson Perlick with the occasional help of SunCoast Hospice Woodside in Pinellas Park, Florida.
She was born in Swissvale, PA on January 30, 1924 and became a resident of Venice, FL in 1959.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Bertha Carver, her brothers George and William Carver and her devoted husband of 53 years James A Thompson.
She was survived by her five children T.D. Thompson (Nancy), George-Ann Ferguson (William), Barbara Perlick (Charles, deceased 1993), James A. Thompson (Kathy), Robert S. Thompson (Cynthia) and nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Marillyn retired from the Sarasota County School System in 1989. She was a 52 year member of Venice Presbyterian church, were she will be interned. She enjoyed traveling abroad, lunches with her girlfriends and was an avid University of Florida (Gators) fan.
