Edward "Ed" Powers of Tellico Plains, passed away Monday, Aug. 9, at his residence. He attended Druid Hills Baptist Church in Tellico Plains and retired from Stokley's where he worked for 52 years

He was 73.

Preceded in death by: his wife, Ruth Lynn Powers; parents, Earl and Annie May Lynn Powers; and several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: sons and daughters-in-law-Ronnie and Pat Powers of Madisonville; Steve and Susan Powers of Tellico Plains; Paul and Tina Powers of Summerville, Ga.; and Terry Powers of Tellico Plains;

Sisters-Wilma Ann Akins of Tellico Plains; and Jewel McMahan of Maryville;

Brothers-Creed Powers of Madisonville; Ken Powers of Tellico Plains; and Jerry Powers of Etowah;

Ten grandchildren-Kevin, Shawn, Victoria, Matthew, Bradley, Brianna and Shilee Powers, Justin and Jared Whitlock and Dakota Sherwood;

Four great-grandchildren;

Several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 11, with the funeral to follow in Myers Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ollie Lankford and Rev. Eddie McDaniel officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 9 a.m., Thursday and proceed to Druid Hills Cemetery for the 10 a.m. committal service. Myers Funeral Home, Tellico Plains, in charge of services.
