This information was from Alice "My gg uncle, Erastus P. Brown Enlisted at Pine Grove, MI July 16, 1862 for 3 years at age 32. Muster Sept 5, 1862. Discharged for disability at Murfreesboro , Tenn. Nov. 24 , 1863. States he was in Co G, Nineteeth Infantry Regiment. These are the records I found for him. His headstone says differently. I hope your can help me with this. In a history of Van Buren Ct. states that Daniel B. Brown, his father, had 7 son that enlisted to fight and fought from the State of Michigan for the Union. Says Erastus was in Andersonville Prison. If Erastus were discharged, I don't see how he could have been at Andersonville, unless he went back into service. His record could be mixed up with another person, I know. I hope you can help me with this, and also his 6 other brothers that were in the Civil War, fighting with MI, Union forces. I would like to be sure of what Regiments they fought with. I have found 3 that were with Co. G, 1st Michigan E & M, (Engineers & Mechanics.) I have Fold3, but many with the same name and not much help.
I am hoping you have access to records I don't have. I live in Texas, so thank for all the work you have done."
