HARWOOD, Craig Allen 41, of Springfield passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 16, 2011 in the Dayton V.A. Hospital. He was born in Springfield on May 21, 1970, the son of James L. and Sharon A. (Day) Harwood. Craig was a 1988 graduate of Kenton Ridge High School where he was a member of their wrestling team. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for eight years, including serving with his father during Operation Desert Storm. He was a life-long member of Maiden Lane Church of God. In addition to his parents of Springfield, Craig is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Melissa and Scott Potts of Springfield and Tanis and Greg Keadle of Xenia; four nieces; three nephews; several aunts and uncles; and countless cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Ethel Day and Robert and Edith Harwood. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. Monday in the LITTLETON & RUE FUNERAL HOME. Craig's funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in Maiden Lane Church of God with Pastor Dan Fiorini officiating. Burial with military honors will be held in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
