C. V. Camp Dies, Wrote Own Epitaph
'Professiona' Juror
Was 81 Years Old
C. V. Camp, long-time "professional" juror and familiar figure at the Harris County courthouse, wrote his own epitaph on the cards, he sent out to his frineds just before his birthday Oct. 23.
Rites Set for Today
Tuesday night he died in Jefferson Davis hospital after a brief illness. His funeral services are tentatively set for today under the direction of Fogel-West.
Active until two weeks ago, the 81-year-old veteran juror had served for many years in various county courts and for the past five years was a "regular" in Lunacy Court. He lived alone at 1710 Lyons.
In Houston 35 Years
He had been a resident of Houston 35 years and worked as a painter until his retirement a number of years ago.
Mr. Camp's survivors include six sons; C. V. Camp Jr. of Houston, E. M. Camp of San Benito and Robert, Frank, Oscar and Paul Camp, all of San Antonio, and several grandchildren.
