Actress. Elaine was the daughter of Minnie Richlin and George Borovay, Russian immigrants. She moved from Chicago to the Washington, DC area about 1950. She did clerical work at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland while appearing in community theater productions. In 1964 she co-founded a theatre company called "Actor's Company" in Washington, DC. She began her professional acting career when she moved to New York City in 1966 and started appearing in off-Broadway shows. She appeared in a recurring role as a secretary, Felicia Farfus, on the television sitcom "Arnie" from 1971 to 1972. She also had small parts in "Tell Me That You Love Me, Junie Moon" (1970), "The Eiger Sanction" (1975), and "The Sentinel" (1977). She was awarded the 1974 Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Actress in a Principal Role for her performance in "The Sea Horse" at the Ivanhoe Theatre in Chicago, Illinois. Elaine was married to Alexander J. Shore and they had one daughter, Wendy, before they divorced.
