FRANCES A. VERTREES, 88, died Tuesday at Baptist Hospital East. She was the former Frances Layman, a native of Hardin County and a member of Highview Baptist Church. Survivors: sons, Virgil B. Jr. and Dr. Robert L. Vertrees; daughters, Norma V. Horn and Doris V. Prentice; 18 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. Funeral: 1:15 p.m. Thursday, Highlands, 3331 Taylorsville Road. Entombment: Resthaven. Visitation: 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Thursday.
