Friday, October 17, 1941: Funeral Services Saturday Morning for A. R. Striblingzz,


Friends throughout this section will regret to know of the death of Mr. Augustus Raymond Stribling, 75, father of Mr. C. E. Stribling, of this city and W. L. (Pa) Stribling and Hoyt Stribling, of Miami, Fla. His death occurred this morning about 5:30 at his home in Ochlochnee due to the infirmities of old age. Funeral services have been arranged for Saturday morning at 11:00 o'clock from the Baptist church in Ochlochnee, conducted by his pastor, the Rev. J. Gorham Garrison.

Interment will be in the Ochlochnee cemetery. Acting as pallbearers will be the following gentlemen: Messrs Henry Wurst, A. E. Speer, John Perry, J. R. Hinson, F. M. Herring, I. C. Clark.

The deceased was well known throughout this section where his life has been spent. He formerly lived in Thomasville but for a number of years has made his home in Ochlochnee. He is the grandfather of the late W. L. (Young) Stribling and often visited his son, Mr. Earl Stribling who operates Stribling's Market here. Friends sympathize with the family in their loss. Funeral arrangements will be in charge of the Hand Trading Company of Pelham.


Augustus Raymon was a son of Columbus Henry Stribling and Ellen Catherine Walker.

Augustus married Louisa Singletary in 1884 in Thomas County, GA.
