Hudson Jr. as the son of Arthur G. Hudson (born 1881 Tennessee) and Bettie (Bailey) Hudson (b. 1882 TN), all black. The 1910 census shows Arthur G. Jr. as six months old, so the June 16, 1911 birthdate would not match for him as he would have been born Dec. 1909 - January 1910 according to the census. By 1920, this Arthur G. Hudson Sr. and Betty Bailey had divorced. By 1930, Betty remarried Elgie Davis and was living in St. Louis with children Jonnie Bernice and Arthur G. Hudson Jr., who may have returned to Memphis later although a 1988 affidavit filed in Memphis states he died in St. Louis about May 8, 1975. The same affidavit states Arthur G. Hudson Sr. and Betty Bailey divorced in St. Louis about 1937, but the 1920 census lists them as divorced.
