Former Memphian Buried Tuesday At Petersburg

Funeral services for Mrs. Billie Mae Stinebaugh, former Hall Countian, were held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Lakeview First Baptist Church.

Rev. Guy Killian, pastor, conducted the services. He was assisted by Rev. O.C. Evans.

Immediately following the funeral the body was sent overland to Petersburg where double funeral services for Mrs. Stinebaugh and her husband, E.C. Stinebaugh, were held Tuesday. Burial was in Petersburg.

Pall bearers at the Lakeview services were: I.B. Robertson, Aubrey Robertson, Connie Ray Robertson, Earl Robertson, Leon Robertson and Pheaton Robertson. Services were arranged by the Murphy-Spicer Funeral Home.

Mr. and Mrs. Stinebaugh were in a car accident near Carlsbad, N.M., Friday night while en route from El Paso to Petersburg. She was killed instantly and Stinebaugh died Sunday.

Funeral services for Mrs. Stinebaugh were held at Lakeview for the benefit of her elderly parents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Stewart, and her numerous friends in this area.

Mrs. Stinebaugh was born on Jan. 7, 1916, in Alex, Oklahoma. She moved to Hall County with her family in 1932 and was married to Edwin C. Stinebaugh at Memphis in August of 1934. They moved to Lockney in 1937 and to Petersburg in 1942. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church since 1929.

Survivors include two children: Edwin Stewart and Francis Lura Stinebaugh of Petersburg.

Her parents, two brothers, R.A. Stewart of Caddao, Colo., and Jack Stewart of Reed, Okla., and a sister, Mrs. J.W. Freiley, Carbon, also survive.
