Age: 77
Grosse Pointe Farms resident Patricia N. Hudson, 77, died Friday, Aug. 12, 2011, after a two-year illness.
She was the beloved wife for 53 years of Arthur Buhl, who survives her. She is also survived by her son, Arthur (Donielle) Buhl Jr. and Timothy (Jennifer) Buhl; four grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her children, Phair, Sara and Christian, who were killed July 17, 1967, by a drunken driver; an older sister and a younger brother.
She graduated in 1952 from the Chatham Hall School in Virginia and in 1956 from Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. She was a former president of the Grosse Pointe Neighborhood Club, former trustee of University Liggett School, the Hotchkiss School in Lakeville, Conn., and a former trustee and director of development for Youth Living Centers (now Starfish Family Services.)
A private burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at Elmwood Cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. at Christ Church Grosse Pointe, 61 Grosse Pointe Blvd., Grosse Pointe Farms.
