US Congressman. Elected to represent New Hampshire's 5th District and as At-Large in the United States House of Representatives, serving from 1817 to 1821, and 1823 to 1825. Also served as a Member of the New Hampshire State House of Representatives in 1794, Justice of the New Hampshire State Supreme Court from 1799 to 1809, and 1813 to 1816, Presidential Elector from New Hampshire in 1800, Chief Justice of the New Hampshire State Supreme Court from 1809 to 1813, and Member of the New Hampshire State Senate for the 12th District from 1821 to 1823.
