I. C. Ackerson, 71 Dies in Hospital--Ira Curtis Ackerson, 71, a retired farmer residing a 1125 E. Pekin st. died at 8:45 p.m. Friday in St. Clara's hospital. He had been ill three years.
The secedent was born aug. 15, 1874 in McLean, a son of the late John and Mary Halsey Ackerson. His marriage to Miss Ollie Buchanan took place 54 years ago in Clinton. They lived on a farm near Lincoln until retiring six and a half years ago.
Surviving are the wife and following chldren: Clarence Ackerson, Mrs. Jesse Henson, Mrs. Kenneth French, Mrs. Charles Harness, Lincoln; Harry Ackerson, Kenney; Mrs. Carl Brady, Arkansas; Mrs. William Grave, Iowa and Carl Ackerson, Waynesville. There are 22 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. A sister, Mrs. Ellen Spencer resides in Mason City and a brother, Charles Ackerson lives at Amboy.
Mr. Ackerson was a member of the Christian church.
The body will be taken from Wrigh Funeral home to the Ackerson residence Saturday afternoon and Monday will be returned to the funeral home where the final rites will be at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Ivan Loy of the Assembly of God officiating . Burial will be in Zion cemetery.
