Allene Ruth Colvill of North Adams, Michigan passed away Sunday, August 21, 2011 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born December 9, 1926 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of John Carter and Effie Emmaline (Orr) Thornton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Carol Lee Smith; two grandsons, Vincent Telese and Aaron Sanford; one sister, Margaret Thornton and two brothers, Walter James Thornton and John Carter Thornton. She is survived by three children, . . . of Anderson, IN, . . . of Provo, Utah and . . . of Anderson, IN; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren; four sisters; one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Colvill enjoyed bowling, cooking, playing cards, Yahtzee and board games and she loved her dogs.
At her request cremation has taken place and a private service was held with the family. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.
