Roberta Marie (Bobbi) Woodward, 50, of Mitchell, passed away Aug. 6, 2011. There will be a Celebration of Life on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011 at 1 p.m. held at the covered area of Les Schwab Field. It will be a potluck lunch, the Eagles will be furnishing meat and bread, but salads and desserts would be appreciated.

Bobbi was born April 4, 1961 in Prineville to James and Betty (Robertson) Woodward. She was a happy little girl and always loved her older sister, Carla and they were always the best of friends.

She went to Prineville schools all through her school years until she graduated from Crook County High School with the class of 1979.

While in high school, she played volleyball, ran, and long jumped on the Cowgirl's track team. For many years she held the 50-yard-dash record at the middle school. She and her sister, Carla did rodeo all through High school and in 1979, she was a Princess with Carla being Queen in the Crooked River Round up. In 1980, Bobbi was Queen with Val Smart on her court.

After High school, she worked on the race track at Portland Meadows for a while. During her first marriage, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Heather Lee. In this period of her life were plenty of ups and downs, but she loved her family who helped her through this time.

Bobbi was a very talented person; she was always a good nursemaid to kids and animals. She was an excellent horsewoman and could ride a tough horse. After her grandparents passed, she moved to the ranch and lived there for the remainder of her life. She loved to manage the water on all of the fields with a close watch for rattlesnakes in the grass. She killed a 53 inch rattlesnake in the field a few years ago. She loved her little dog critter, who was her best bud. Bobbi's daughter Heather married Andy Earnest and had a darling little girl named Cashlynn who was Bobbi's first grandchild.

Bobbi was an outdoor girl, and she loved to fish, hunt, go to the beach and swim. She had a keen eye for taking beautiful pictures and loved the beauty of a sunrise or sunset. She could take an old box and make a thing of beauty out of it. She loved spending time at her grandparent's ranch in Mitchell, and one year, she and Carla stayed with their grandparents while the Prineville schools were having budget troubles.

Hunting season was an event Bobbi always looked forward to. As a little girl she would tag along behind her Uncles; Jack, Jerry, John, Ole, Charles, her dad and her two grandpas – Bob and Carl.

She had great eyes for spotting animals. The uncles would argue over who got to hunt with her because she and Carla could spot all the animals.

Bobbi is survived by her daughter, Heather (Andy) Earnest of Prineville; mother and father, Betty and James Woodward of Mitchell; sister, Carla Woodward of Prineville; niece and nephew, Meesha and Neeko Rachor of Prineville; great-grandmother, Thelma Robertson of Prineville; granddaughter, Cashlynn Earnest of Prineville; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Jane Woodward, grandfather Carl Robertson, and uncle Charles Woodward.

She was dearly loved and will be missed by her family and everyone who knew her.

Bobbi took great pride in taking care of the West Branch Cemetery and would want it to continue to look its best. Contributions made to the West Branch Cemetery Fund would greatly be appreciated.

Whispering Pines Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
