Samuel Leslie Burton, 78, passed away at Crittenden County Hospital Wednesday, April 25, 1956. Mr. Burton was born in Crittenden County, the son of John O. Burton and Mrs. Elizabeth Thurmond Burton.
He married Miss Minnie Lucas and to this union two children were born, R.E. Burton, Marion, and Miss Mabel Burton, now Mrs. W.W. Rutherford, of Evansville.
After the death of his wife he moved to Marion, where he was a carpenter and contractor. In 1942, he married Miss Daisy Smart, who with a brother, Dr. W.H. Burton, Evansville, and his two children survive.
