J. C. LaCaze, eighty years of age, passed away on October 19, 2004 at Lifecare Hospital of Shreveport.


He was a native of Cloutierville and a resident of Natchez.


He was a former police jury member. He was the owner-operator of Cities Service Gulf and Texaco service stations, was a dealer and jobber for Phillips Petroleum for forty years, and had J. C.'s One Stop Convenience Store for ten years. He was active for many years in civic activities. He was a member of SaintJohn the Baptist Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II serving his country in the United States Navy.


He was preceded in death by his parents, Jestine and Alfreda Poche LaCaze; and a granddaughter, Toni Jacoby.


He is survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Ernestine Breville LaCaze; two daughters, Ann McQuagge (Buddy) and Chesteen Jacoby (Dick); a sister, Betty Ruth Lee (Bill); two brothers, Kirby LaCaze (Miriam) and Douglas LaCaze (Elva Ann); a granddaughter, Jackie Jacoby; and two great-grandchildren, Sheldon and Sterling Liles.




Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Sampite, Clint Perot Jr., Orin Foster, Rubel Wright, Les Ivy, and Gary DeBlieux.


The family would like to thank the Christus Schumpert Highland and Lifecare Hospitals, the doctors, nurses, aides and staff of both facilities for the care given Mr. LaCaze during his illness.
