Beatrice "Bea" (Monk) Baker, 76, of Garvin, OK was born February 3, 1915 and passed away October 19, 1991 at McCurtain Memorial Hospital in Idabel, Oklahoma.
Her parents were George Franklin Monk and Myrtie Jane (Glover) Monk of Mt. Zion Community. Both her parents were buried at Valliant Cemetery. Bea had lived her entire life in McCurtain County, OK.
She married Homer "Bake" Baker January 11, 1933, probably in McCurtain County, Oklahoma. They celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary in 1983, at their home in Mt. Zion Community, southeast of Valliant, Oklahoma. They lived there for many, many years.
Beatrice was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was the secretary and Sunday School teacher at the Mt. Zion Assembly of God Church for many years and was very dedicated to her church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Homer "Bake" Baker in July of 1984 and her brother, George Monk.
Beatrice "Bea" was survived by her only child, daughter; Inez (Baker) Breedlove and husband, Tommy of Garvin, OK; two sisters; Birdie (Monk) Kilmer and Annie (Monk) Mooney of Valliant, OK; one sister-in-law, Betty (Porter) Monk of Garvin, OK; two grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 22,1991 at Millerton Assembly of God Church, Millerton, Oklahoma, with Rev. C. A. Starks officiating. Buriel was at Valliant Cemetery, under the direction of Huckleberry Funeral Service of Valliant, OK.
